Traditional arts campursari

At first people did not intentionally create art, just make something as a means to express a sense of devotion, fear, respect, joy, compassion, and so are drawn to the occult.

Campursari is one art form in Java which is a marriage between modern music with ethnic music. The artists combine two different musical elements of ethnic music instruments of the gamelan and modern musical instruments like electric guitars, bass, drums and keyboards, so it can be said that campursari is the result of crossbreeding of hybrid music between western and traditional music.

This art requires several music players, no less than about ten people to produce a melodious rhythm. The emergence of music campursari initially depart from the original keroncong music style, campursari stick with the basics keroncong.

Campursari initially popularized by Ki Nartosabdho that have a real name Sunarto. He was born in Wedi, Klaten, Central Java, August 25, 1925. The biggest obstacle facing campursari music players, most come from within themselves:

1. Still undeveloped soul entrepreneurs.

2. Work ethic that has not adapted to the nature of the entertainment industry.

3. Awareness of communication to meet public needs and the promotion is still very limited.

Campursari strength, namely freedom of expression in it. Freedom can not be obtained from such traditional art performances or klenengan wayang kulit. Freedom of expression is concerned how the song is so passive in the wayang kulit or klenengan dish, while in music campursari a singer can carry a tune with the stand as he swayed. Campursari music itself is a reflection of the strength to survive or to show their existence, we can see that this music is traditional music which is then to innovate by mixing elements of traditional music with modern musical elements.

This innovation is not solely just to attract audiences and to benefit the artist, but this innovation is a form of music Campursari effort to not lose in competition with immigrants music. Music campursari is one of Indonesia's cultural assets that have experienced glory but is now crushed by the times.
